An African student excels

Mr Stephen Agyepong, a Ghanaian national, earned his bachelor of arts degree in economics with a summa cum laude (an equivalent of the British first class degree) during the May 1984 graduation exercises of the University of theDistrict of Columbia in Washington, DC, USA.

As a result of consistent excellent academic performance, Mr Agyepong was a "Presidential Scholar" and an "Honours Student", respectively, throughout his student years at the University. Additionally, he earned numerous local and international awards, including a citation in international business of the Foreign Student Service Council of Washington DC, USA.

Born on June 27, 1959 at Kasaam (Kwabre) in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, Mr Agyepong attended the Dompoase Secondary School at Dompoase-Adansi; he completed his sixth-form studies at Opoku Ware Secondary School, Kwawu
