How Sad It Is

How sad it is,
this world of ours!
With all its technology,
guns, planes and cars.

That for the want of a little love,
children die and suffer so!
At fault are men of greed,
of this I surely know!

Can not these men,
see or feel the hurt and pain?
Know of its damaging effects,
upon the infants brain?

Can not they see,
in their want for more,
The death they bring to all,
especially the poor?

To line their pockets with
treasures of gold!
In their thirst for power,
the numbers of sufferers untold.

As they stand so proud,
so sure
These killers of men,
and what for?

How can they look into the faces,
see the hungry look in their eyes?
Feel nothing in their heart,
as a mother watches as her child dies...

As for you,
you wicked men of lust,
Standing, watching,
as millions crawl, dying in the dust!

As for you,
in your thirst for power
Soon shall come,
your judgement hour!

You!
Clammed leaders of men!
Speak of peace,
again and again!

Spend billions for armaments,
to bring your peace!
While little suffer,
with a hunger that will not cease!

How sad it is,
you with the power,
Could end it all,
and claim your grandest hour.

Soon will come a time,
when there will really be peace!
Praise be to God!
Your wickedness will cease!
